Is yoga a religion?

No, yoga is not a religion, nor is meditation. Most Westernized yoga classes focus primarily on learning physical poses, which are called asanas. At the Center we include breathing techniques and relaxation techniques as well. There are styles of yoga that teach you how to move your body in new ways. We can help you choose a style that best suits you and offers the greatest health benefits by enabling you to develop your flexibility, strength, and balance. We multi-task our minds constantly, rarely slowing down to enjoy the moment. Through a yoga practice, you can learn how to be in the moment and kick on the body’s natural relaxation response.
